Gosh I’ve had a busy week! It was my birthday and I *sigh* turned 39!! So blessed to be surrounded by such gorgeous people. We have our niece here from England so I’ve also played tour guide for the week and absolutely loved it but it hasn’t been a normal ‘week in the life of Louise’ my housework, cleaning, blogging and in general Louise stuff has been missed but now it’s time to get back to business….
Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. (1 Peter 3:3, 4 NLT)
I am the Womans Ministry Leader for my Church! and I absolutely LOVE LOVE it. The scripture above is the one God gave me for the year for the ministry. Looking back now I often wonder if it was actually just for me!! what with my no clothes for a year and other things along the way!!
On saturday night I hosted a Womans Minustry event called Who do you think you are? a challenging title for women and a very good one. We had an amazing guest speaker Ps Anita White who alongside her husband are the Senior Pastors at Meadows Church and they are also the leaders for New Life International here in NZ, her word was both refreshing and relevant and just showing women how to be themselves was a major factor in the evenings event! Thank you Anita your realness was inspiring.
Who am I? Is an unspoken question we all struggle with from time to time in our mind, as we navigate the different circumstances and seasons in our lives. Just when we think we know who we are our situations change, relationships alter and we realise yet again we have allowed people and things to identify who we are. But your identity is not in what you do or where you are, it is in ‘whose’ you are.
When I was single my identity was based around MY CAREER and relationships. Then I had a new badge called wife, then mother, but I had to realise I am not defined by a label. I had to start on a journey that would remove these comparisons and labels and find myself in who God made me to be.
So I urge you my friend to find your own identity, it is a journey we all must make to really find out who we are in him. its our won unique walk. Maybe its time to remove the labels that you feel define you and rename yourself in who you are in HIM. It may feel uncomfortable at times but it will be worth it I promise! For you are fearfully and wonderfully made in HIM.
Love ya xxx
