Last year someone asked me where my fruit was? as women’s ministry leader where was my fruit? At first I stumbled and got caught out I just couldn’t think, there was no one new sat next to me in church, in fact I don’t think I’d personally invited someone to church then.
My Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples. John 15v8
You don’t always see your fruit, some years fruit trees don’t bear fruit at all, other years there is abundant fruit. It takes years for a tree to grow, you may have only planted the seed.
There are lots of analogies for being disciples and as I prayed about the questions asked about my own fruit, God told showed me fruit trees and how they differ through different seasons, its not always obvious to everyone around you. The Chics Facebook group for my church has over 150 members and thats just for our church page with many non christian woman added. We are sharing our journeys to people we don’t even know, we are all discipling those women. Women’s Ministry events bring new people almost every time and this blog page is seeing people as far as Texas sharing from my Facebook and reading my blog posts.
I wanted to share the above to encourage you all, that we don’t always see who we are witnessing to and discipling, a lot of the time its just by walking the great walk of faith and being a witness to those we see from our hairdressers to the mums on the sidelines at school sports to people in our work place. Your fruit may not ever sit next to you in church, you might never know that it was your encouraging words on a facebook post, the way you acted in a particular situation or a coffee date that changed that persons life.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5v16
The two girls in the picture above are my proudest right now, an example of witnessing from afar, an example of how a prayer in one country can also answer that of another persons in another country.
On Sunday, almost a year after they made the decision to go to church, these to lovelies got to share their story so far!!!
Be encouraged girls and keep shining your light!
