It’s all in the preparation!

Evening ladies,
As the word preparation keeps popping up wherever I am or whatever I’m doing, Facebook, Instagram, emails, interviews I’m feeling like the next thing God will do will put it on one of those aero plane banners!!!

I’ve just signed up for the QT marathon, I mean half marathon! Don’t get too over excited!! It’s a huge challenge and a huge focus shift, whilst on the surface it’s a fitness challenge I also think it’s a God challenge, the preparation challenge!

Reading Christine Caines Unstoppable it’s all about running your race, but to run your race you have to prepare and with the preparation comes endurance…… Which takes me to one of my favourite scriptures, Hebrews 12:1

And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.

God doesn’t say run the race of life all flowery he uses the word endurance! Endurance is not a nice word, without looking it up I’d describe it as doing something that’s hard but pushing through!…. So I looked up the word…..
*the ability to endure an unpleasant or difficult process or situation without giving way.
*the capacity of something to last or to withstand wear and tear.

And this is in scripture about our daily life!!! What the!! I didn’t sign up for endurance, I signed up for peace, love and happy ever after! Who was I kidding!!

You can’t run a half marathon without training, without preparing you’d just fall probably about 3ks in you’d realize!! You need to prepare it takes more than a week, the preparation requires endurance as you push through, as you push your body to new levels, life is the same sometimes we just have to push through when it seems too much it’s there where we are enduring and Gods taking us to a better more exciting place, without the endurance we won’t appreciate the finish! Just like when I attempt to run the half, if I don’t go through that endurance training to make it without stopping, passing that finish line will have no significance. I won’t appreciate the end if I haven’t prepared for the journey along the way!!!

If we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, the endurance and the preparation will be so much easier, if we Trust in Him knowing that he knows how much prep we need and how much we can endure before the finish line, the journey will become so much more significant.

So get your running shoes get preparing because your journey/race just got more exciting!!!

Very timely word for me. God’s definitely got me on that page!! I’m busy reading John Bevere’s book called ‘Driven by Eternity’!! It’s the second time I’ve gone back to reading it and I’m getting so much out of it!!! I feel that in that verse about running with endurance, it holds the keys to living a life with purpose that counts!! It’s never easy but that’s what God’s grace is for! “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ NIV) God calls us to diligently follow after HIM, to root ourselves in HIM and to be obedient to HIS instruction for our lives. How we choose to follow affects our eternity! So let’s encourage one another to run the race with endurance, to keep each other accountable and make our lives count for HIM!
