Removing the quick fix

Whilst I’m on the subject of all things green I thought I might just get on a roll! It seems that God is talking to me through nature in the most amazing way at the moment and I’m loving listening, finding and learning!

Interior is definitely my passion, wall art, colours, soft furnishings I just LOVE it all! The garden well that’s another story, green fingers I am not! You’ve read my plant saga with the stalk? That sums me up in a nutshell! My hubby saw some plants on offer and decided that it was an opportunity not to be missed, in saying that they brought with them an unplanned Sunday in the great winter outdoors!

As I looked at the space with layers of pea straw, dirt and just hard work God really spoke to me….. Life is hard work, it’s not easy, sometimes we have layers of stuff that we need to get rid of that we need to remove in order to see the good underneath, sometimes the stuff on the outside, like the pea straw on my garden is a great cover up, an easy fix. The world shows us life as an easy fix, there are quick fix problem solvers everywhere we turn in every aspect of life but to see things long term you have to do the work you have to show commitment, determination, faith and trust in your situation. You have to have your eyes fixed on Jesus because HE is eternal, forever our long term solver, the one who if we don’t give up will show us the long term plans He has for us.

‘fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God’ Hebrews 12:2

As I worked hard moving the layers of pea straw in just one area I was surprised at the size of the space, surprised at the soil and excited as I started to visualise what I could do with the area! God looks at us the same, when He sees us make a commitment to be long term, when He sees us remove the quick fixes from our lives He gets excited, He starts to move within us, He plants visions, dreams and growth within us.

Do you have any quick fix areas in your life that you need to remove? Are there any areas in your life that with commitment, dedication, hard work and faith you could see a long term improvement?

Big love girls for a fab week
